During the 1958 rebuilding of Doncaster shed, it is just up the road from its home depot 34E Peterborough New England. Three years before this splendid view from Doncaster Standard Class Nine 92037 had been selected for a period of test runs between Tyne Dock and Consett in the North East in order to determine whether the class would be suitable replacements for the ageing Thompson Class Q7's and O1 's so long associated with that line . Such tests with 92037 confirmed that the Standards would , indeed , be capable of handling the heavy iron ore trains and consequently , after some delay in their Air Pumps being made available for fitment at Crewe , numbers 92060 to 92066 arrived at their home at Tyne Dock Depot in May of 1956 , followed by 92097 to 92099 shortly thereafter . The ten Standards were used as both train engines and bankers on the 26 mile line , with its two stretches of severe gradients .
