BR 9F 2-10-0 No 92220 Evening Star passes Pengam with the down 'Capitals United' express from Paddington to Cardiff on July 1, 1960.

Peter Kerslake says "Determined to make the best of their newly acquired "Evening Star" the Shed Master and his Foremen at Cardiff Canton soon deployed 92220 on express passenger duties between Cardiff and Paddington, including the early morning "Capitals United Express" heading to Paddington and returning back home again later the same day after a period spent at Ranelagh yard, but this practice did not find favour with those in authority, however, and 92220's exploits were short lived and it was soon relegated to "more appropriate" freight workings.
