An earlier evaluation of Peterborough's 92037 carried out in June 1955 had shown that the 9Fs would be appropriate motive power for working the heavily loaded 800 ton iron ore freights up to Consett from Tyne Dock, with its two heavily graded sections, albeit with banking assistance .
