This wonderful line up in September 1966 outside Banbury MPD in Oxfordshire finds no less than seven locomotives awaiting their next call to duty. Identified are ex-LMS Stanier 'Black 5s (Nos. 45324, 45392 and 45393) an anonymous ex-LMS Stanier 8F and two BR Riddles 9Fs (Nos. 92218 and 92129). A further Black 5 at the rear is also anonymous. What a sight! Banbury MPD opened by the GWR in 1908 and closed in October 1966, the month after this photograph was taken.
