92008 1959-10-08 Wellingborough
Peter Kerslake says "With a fitted freight - I always thought containers in open wagons looked strange - presumably due to a shortage of Conflats, it certainly was against the rules! 92008 had been initially intended NewportEbbw Vale, but the shed had not got on at all well with their first 9Fs, with serious brake and regulator problems, resulting in them being taken out of service . As a result both 92008 and 92009 were diverted from new to Wellingborough for the Toton to Brent coal freight workings, the first two of the class on the London Midland Region".
