92026 was the first Crosti 9F to be converted at Crewe Works from where it returned to Wellingborough on 11th September 1959 and is pictured there soon after on 25th October. It was the only one of the ten not stored before conversion. The work cost £961 and resulted in an unofficial downgrade to 8F. The first three conversions Nos. 92024/26/28 initially retained the grab iron around the angle of the front cab window and the hand rail below the windows on the right hand side which were removed on the later conversions, and these subsequently came into line.
