Crosti 9F 2-10-0 No 92021 passes Brentingby Junction south of Melton with a Toton to Brent coal train on August 2, 1955.

Peter Kerslake says "Newly built 92021 , the second of the ten Franco Crosti boilered "9F's" doing what it was intended for, working the Toton to Brent freights and allocated from new to Wellingborough depot, intended to burn poor quality post war coal but proving in service unpopular with the footplate men and maintenance staff at their home depot and consequently
beginning with 92026 in September of 1959 a three years coversion programme was implemented bringing them in line to the standard "9F" configuration".
