BR 9F 2-10-0 Crosti No 92023 on shed at Wellingborough on 25 August 1962.

One of the ten 1955 built former Franco Crosti boilered "9F's" namely 92023 is at its home shed of Wellingborough in 1962 showing clear signs of a recent Works visit and that may well have been when it was converted back to a "normal" configuration , the Italian design of Franco Crosti boilers proving in service to increase maintenance requirements and be wholly unacceptable to their unfortunate footplate crews with constant smoke infiltration into their cabs.
Conversion as far as was possible to the standard design began with 92026 in September of 1959 , taking three years to complete."
