Peter kerslake says "A fine portrait of former Franco Costi boilered 92024 , now converted to standard design but still showing its past history with the non standard design of smokebox and both water feed pipes on the right of the boiler .
All ten were allocated to Wellingborough from new in 1955 intended to burn poor quality coal but the exercise was not without its problems with increased maintenance time being necessary on shed together with serious ingress of smoke into the cabs when on the road and from September of 1959 and beginning with 92026 a three years programame was begun to convert them as seen in this view."
