This would probably been better had I been using black and white film but at least 92227 looks as though its been through Works recently , a welcome sight in those dreadful days at the end of steam , the date being the 4th. of July , 1964 , and the scene captured at Gloucester Central. The 9F is coming up from South Wales on a freight, Severn Tunnel Junction shed still being open to steam at this time, and is passing 7318 which has arrived from Hereford on a stopping passenger. The 9F 's were often seen on these workings at this time , sharing them with the few remaining Western Region Halls, Granges and Manors running on their last duties before withdrawal
