This was the setting for many of my childhood hours and here the seeds were sown for my enduring fascination with railways. Behind southbound 92211 and its train are the playing fields at Dringhouses on the southern outskirts of York. St. Helens Road bridge offered great views of the ECML and Dringhouses freight yard, the lighting towers are seen on the skyline. Many a halfpenny has been placed on the railtop hereabouts - not by me of course!
