Withernsea Station, the easternmost ex-North Eastern Railway outpost once served this small holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. This lovely view, featuring ex-LNER Gresley 'V1' Tank 67677, shows what holidaymakers would have seen as they arrived for their well-earned vacation or day trip. The station opened in June 1854 and closed to passengers in October 1964. Photo dated Friday 31st August 1956.
