What a splendid vantage point Langstone Rock provides , favoured to this day when there's a Steam Special on the line between Newton Abbot and Exeter , and our cameraman here has tackled the Rock to secure this view .
Originally forming the seaward end of Langstone Point Headland , the present day rock was separated from the inland section when Mr. Brunel and his men blasted a deep cutting through the middle 1840 's for his then broad gauge single track with much of the material thereby removed being used up the line on the embankments at what was to be Dawlish Warren station.
