I think this is a complete flush plated front end with 'pretend' headcode box painted on. The Class 47 website has no comments can anytone confirm my thoughts?

From what Simon Travers remembers, it was a piece of black Perspex that had been "tacked" over the headcode panel and surround with the middle of the "O's" left clear for some light to shine through
