Liverpool Street 1950s
The scene at Liverpool Strett on June 13, 1958 with B17 No 61636 Harlaxton Manor in the engine dock, B1 61373 and Britannia No 70006 Robert Burns waiting to leave with expresses.
Peter Kerslake says "Welsh cameraman Bob Tuck is well off his usual haunts here at Liverpool Street with a trio of delights recorded on the 13th. June, 1958.
Cambridge allocated 61636 'Harlaxton Manor' is in the far bay, probably waiting a return trip home whilst Stratford's 61373 is coupled up to its stock ready to leave.
Built in April of 1951 'Robert Burns' on the right is ready to go, this engine later being one of the unlucky 'Britannias' sent to March, essentially a freight engine depot, in December of 1961 where it remained until a reprieve sent it to Carlisle Kingmoor in December of 1963, joining virtually the whole of the remaining 'Britannias', and from where it met its end together with ten others in May of 1967"
