Ex-London & North Western Railway Whale 'Rebuilt Precursor' class 4-4-0 No. 5283 'Brougham' (pilot). Built at Crewe in August 1907 as L&NWR No. 2011 and withdrawn in March 1936. Ex-L&NWR Bowen Cooke 'Claughton' class 4-6-0 No. 5909 'Charles N. Lawrence' (train). Built at Crewe in June 1913 as L&NWR No. 2046 and withdrawn in January 1935.

Seen in lovely August 1933 evening light at Rugby, 5283 and 5909 are heading the up 'Royal Scot'. Charles Lawrence was the last Chairman of the L&NWR from 1921 and the first Chairman of the LMS until 1924.
