Breezing along in 1940 near Ford in West Sussex with a modest mixed freight, No.2575 was an ex-LB&SCR 'E5' class 0-6-2 Tank designed by Robert Billinton. Wartime photography was illicit but some managed to pass 'under the radar' and this delightful scene was captured for posterity. Built in 1903, the locomotive was withdrawn in 1951 as BR No. 32575.
