6661 1965-08-07 Newtown, Cardiff

6661 1965-08-07 Newtown, Cardiff

This was originally identified as 6681 but I believe it to be 6661. The former was a Tyseley loco upon withdrawal and was scrapped at Cashmores Great Bridge. This procession of GWR locos is hauled for scrap by an EE type 3 No 6981. The train behind is a Swindon cross country DMU. 6661 was stored at Cardiff East Dock from June to September 1965 and towed to scrapped at Wards Briton Ferry between the 3rd and 7th August 1965. I believe this to be that movement. All other locos have their numberplates removed.
