At Eastfield shed in 1928, No 9784 poses for the camera. painted in lined goods engine livery, -the lining clearly shows on the boiler bands and splashers; less clearly on the cab and tender. Built at Cowlairs in July 1900 (from the final batch) this engine failed to become BR property, being withdrawn by LNER in October 1947. (Sister engine No 9783 survived until late 1963).
