Holmes NBR class J36 0-6-0 No 65243 Maude allocated to 64F Bathgate from January 1964 is seen heading south towards Bents with a short empty merchandise wagon train at Addiewell Junction on the Longridge to Bathgate Railway, three miles south of Bathgate in March 1965. These wagons were often used for brick or pipe traffic. The signal cabin opened 26 November 1894 and closed on 24th April 1963 when the Addiewell Railway branch closed. This line used to leave the main line just by the disused signal post.
