65224 1963-07-15 St Margarets shed

All of the 25 J36s which served in France during WW1 were returned to Scotland, and all received names to commemmorate their ROD service. One of the eleven named J36s inherited by BR: No 65224 ‘MONS’ lies on the quiet line at St Margarets shed on 15th July 1963. It had been withdrawn a matter of days earlier, in June after a career spanning 72 years.
