Ex-NBR J36 0-6-0 No 65285 at Kipps in the 1950s. This, along with No 65287 had severley cut down boiler mountings for working the short Gartverrie branch which featured an overbridge which gave clearance of only 11ft 1inch. Above this bridge ran the west coast main line so there was no alternative solution to the problem other than burrowing! The Gartverrie branch served a fireclay works and was situated near Coatbridge.
Built in 1896, the engine was withdrawn in November 1963.
