Although No.10000 was outshopped before nationalisation, its 'twin' No.10001 did not appear until July 1948 and therefore did not have the cast LMS insignia that was given to No.10000. This picture was taken in the Diesel Shop at Derby Works as the diesel-electric neared completion.
