LNER class K1/1 2-6-0 No 1997 MacCalin Mor recorded in July 1947; re-built from a K4 in 1945, it was allocated to Norwich at the time.
This photo is taken on the turntable at Cromer High. The location with North Sea in the distance is distinctive plus the old coach body and the extended water pipe. The loco is K1/1 MacCailin Mor the prototype for the subsequent K1 class. It was numbered 1997 (with N E on tender) and transferred to Norwich in October 1946 staying for a year. Other photos show it on snow clearing duties around Cromer in the severe winter of 1946/47.
