The evening light adds much to this fine 1960s study of BR Peppercorn 'K1 No. 62012. It stands alongside the lengthy wet ash pits at the north end of York MPD yard. It is in company with an unidentified 9F and a distant 08 diesel shunter is marshalling a rake of vans. 62012 was built by NBL of Glasgow in July 1949 and was withdrawn in May 1967.
