62042 1965 Bolton Percy
The first two outlying stations on the ECML a few miles south of York were Copmanthorpe and Bolton Percy. They both closed to passenger traffic in 1959 and 1965 respectively.
This is Bolton Percy, still looking smart and with rose beds well-tended in 1965. Passing through with an up mixed freight is BR Peppercorn 'K1' 2-6-0 No. 62042, built by NBL of Glasgow in Oct. 1949 and withdrawn in July 1967.
