A Stanier ‘4MT’ 2-6-4T No.42488 on 19th March 1961 over the pits at Monument Lane. It was in its second spell there, moving from Bushbury in August 1958, although it went into store almost immediately and stayed out of service until June 1959. It eventually left for Aston in February 1962.

Ed Purcell says "With dieselisation of local services there was not a lot of work for locos like this. The Birmingham (ex LNWR lines) ones were often apparently in store after 1960"
