A splendid photograph taken at Lostock Troughs in Lancashire on a crisp morning in March 1956. Ex-LMS Stanier 4P Tank No. 42653 is hurrying over the troughs with its modest 3-coach train. Completing the scene, there's some interesting lineside detail to enjoy. 42653 was built at Derby in Dec. 1940 as LMS No. 2653 and was withdrawn in Sept. 1962
