The scarcely photographed ex-North Eastern Railway shed at Starbeck on the outskirts of Harrogate had been much rebuilt and updated over the years and by May 1959 had become a brick'-built through shed lacking any architectural merit. It was fairly unusual to see an ex-LMS locomotive here, but Stanier '4P' 2-6-4 Tank No. 42477 is taking centre stage during her brief allocation at Starbeck in 1959. It had been built at Derby in Jan. 1937 as LMS No. 2477 and was withdrawn in June 1965. A Gresley 'J39' 0-6-0 No. 64944 just sneaks into the view.
