Adjacent to the foot crossing near the left hand platform is a pile of brick rubble - clearly something has been demolished but it is highly unusual to dump rubble in the 4 foot.

Robert Waterman says "At this time for the forthcoming electrification the platforms here were raised to current standard height - they were quite low previously. Evidence of this work can be seen on the opposite platform. Presumably the rubble was from this - although as you say, quite unusual for it to be dumped in the four foot."
