Michael Fox says "This is the regular working from Peak Forest to the aggregates terminal at Hope Street, Salford. The train became very well known in the early 1980s as it tended to be double-headed by Class '40s'. I suspect that this photo was taken in 1982. This is the loaded working, not the returning empties".
