Ex-Great Eastern Railway J. Holden 'D16/3' class 4-4-0 No. 8793. Built at Stratford in April 1911 as GER No. 1793. Rebuilt from class 'D15' to class 'D16/3' in July 1937 and withdrawn in February 1960 as BR No. 62604.

Separated from her tender, 8793 is in sparkling condition as seen at Stratford Works in September 1938. One of the eight diminutive ex-GER 0-4-0 saddletanks used as the works shunter, has just crept into the picture.
