Horward Newby says "The D16 is probably waiting to depart on the 13.10 (SX) Derby - Lincoln. Until dieselised in the late 1950’s these services produced a succession of ex-LNER classes eking out their final months before withdrawal : D16’s, K2’s, Directors, A5’s and the occasional J6’s and J39’s. They also saw the appearance of what for many years was the only named B1 at Derby, Lincoln‘s very own 61033 Dibatag. All this was swept away with the arrival of Cravens three-car DMU’s."
