Peter Kerslake says "Kings Lynn depot's "Royal" Claud Hamilton, the well maintained 62614, was invariably kept in pristine condition by the staff there, and this view shows how its number plate and distinctive smokebox door ring and hinge bracket were always well burnished, making it easily identified even from a distance, as I recall from my time spent working at Kings Lynn in the mid 'fifties.
62614 was the regular engine for working Royal Trains over the line to Hunstanton with the Sandringham Royal Estate being served by the delightful little station at Wolferton situated midway between Kings Lynn and Hunstanton."
