Works 1905 Doncaster Works Crimpsall Shops Interior

Nine Great Northern Railway Ivatt locomotives, 4-4-0, 4-4-2 and 0-6-0 Saddletank types are under repair in Crimpsall shops (then relatively new) inside 'The Plant' at Doncaster circa 1905.
An obviously posed 'official' photograph, it features 32 workmen at least ten of whom are carrying hefty hammers of various sizes. The assembly includes three 'bowler hats' (i.e. foremen). Crimpsall was demolished circa 2004 and is now a housing development. Perhaps the ghost of Henry Ivatt will visit once in a while?
