43029 1966 Shap station

43029 1966 Shap station

Propelling its PW train on the Up line. There is a replacement turnout crossing on the bogie flat wagon and a plastic workmans hut (for protection of the staff?) loaded onto the open wagon. Note the 'Parachute' water tower at the end of the platform already out of use and decapitated which dates it after November 1965. The station building still supports a fine ex LNWR gents sign with 'pointing hand'.
