LMS designed Ivatt 2-6-0 No. 43074 allocated to Middlesbrough makes a smoky exit from Falsgrave Tunnel at Scarborough in the 1950s as it leaves the long closed North Yorkshire coastal route from Middlesbrough and Whitby. The portal was finally sealed off in 1985 after the closure of Gallows Close Goods Yard at the other end of the 260 yard tunnel.
