43043 was transferred from the LMR at Saltley to the NER at Heaton, where it is pictured, in February 1952. The double chimney was almost certainly replaced during a General overhaul at Doncaster in early 1955. 43043 moved to Holbeck in June 1957, then Neville Hill in February 1964 and finally Normanton the following September; it was withdrawn three years later.
