821 1937-09-05 March MPD

In September 1937 and (seemingly) a long way from its 'home' territory, ex-North Eastern Railway Raven 'S2' (LNER 'B15') 4-6-0 No. 821 is in the loco yard at March MPD in Cambridgeshire. This location noted on the negative sleeve is very dubious with a 'J27 alongside although a couple were allocated there briefly. It makes an imposing, if somewhat grubby sight with her NER 'windjabber' chimney. 821 was built at Darlington in Nov. 1912 as NER No. 821 and was withdrawn in Nov. 1946 as LNER No. 1697. The actual location anyone?
