A splendid view in a fine settting as 7206 heads what looks to be empty wagons here at Severn Tunnel Junction on the South Wales side of the Severn and its famous tunnel .
7206 was one of Mr . Collett's rebuilds with a 2-8-2 wheel arrangement from a number of the smaller " 5205 " class dating from 1930 with their 2-8-0 wheel arrangement which were stored out of use and never ran in their original form due mainly to the reduction in South Wales and longer distance freight traffic following the first war .
This view shows 7206 's massive and enlarged coal bunker with its five and a half ton capacity , made posible by the extended rear main frames fitted at Swindon during the rebuilding programme from the original design .
How well cared for were the banks in those happy days!
