The heavy freight loco storms through Aberbeeg with coal empties.

As with the original engines of the 1923 built " 5205 " class from which the fifty four members of the " 7200 " class were rebuilt from 1934 to 1939 these heavy freight 2-8-2 locomotives were primarily intended for use in and around South Wales , and it is interesting to note that in January of 1956 no less than forty eight of the class were to be found allocated to Welsh Motive Power Depots , with the six remaining ones being at Oxford where there were four , whilst Wolverhampton's Oxley , and Bristol's St . Philip's Marsh had just one each on their books.
In Wales , Newport Ebbw Vale ( 86A ) had by far the most of the class , with no less than thirteen there , whilst Landore ( 87E ) and Llanelly ( 87F ) each had an allocation of six.
