The engine compartment doors were interchangable allowing the Dundee fitters to create the odd look.
Note the three windows in the rear of the cab. The first half-dozen 06's had this arrangement; a carry-over from the earlier design 153HP D29xx series and the 0-6-0 D2400 - 9 batch. Later 06's had the more modern-looking two-window arrangement.
