The newly electrified Bournemouth line services were formed with a ‘4-REP’ motor buffet set at the London end, as illustrated by No. 3001, together with two ‘4-TC’ trailer sets which, after detaching from the ‘4-REP’ at Bournemouth, were powered by a push-pull fitted Type ‘3’ diesel over the non-electrified section to Weymouth.
