EMU 7127 1963-05-19 Victoria

With Battersea power station in the background BR 4-CEP unit No 7127 leads a 12 car formation on the 4.42pm arrival from Folkestone Harbour with passengers from Calais seen descending Grosvenor bank into Victoria on May 19, 1963.

Robert Waterman says " Headcode 42 indicates this has come via Maidstone East and Herne Hill which suggests this is a relief boat train. Also the relief boat trains usually didn't have a MLV (sometimes two) at the Victoria end and which 13 or14 coach trains could only be accomodated in platforms 1, 2, 7 or 8 on the South Eastern side of Victoria (most of the Brighton side platforms could handle anything up to 19/20 coaches until the mid-late 1970's re-signalling changes)"
