North Eastern Railway Raven 'Z' (LNER 'C7') class 4-4-2 No. 2193. Built at Darlington in Dec.1914 and withdrawn in Aug. 1948 still as LNER No. 2978. The magnificent arched roofs of York Station provide an ideal backdrop for this magnificent study of a magnificent locomotive. The immaculate turn-out of 2193 is a credit to all concerned.
