D1733 1964 Bromford Bridge
Brand new Brush Type 4s Nos.D1733 and D1740 running light towards Birmingham. No.D1733 is in the XP64 prototype British Rail blue livery with the new double arrow symbol on a red background. It made extensive tours around the system with the XP64 blue and grey liveried coaches. Note that even the Brush worksplate has been repositioned to suit the livery. Both diesels were built at Loughborough and officially entered traffic on the same date in June 1964. This picture appears to have been taken on a delivery run from Loughborough to their new depots on the Western Region.
