BR 4MT 2-6-4T No 80043 leaves Chilcompton tunnel with the 16.25 Bath to Templecombe train on the last day of service, Saturday March 5, 1966.

Peter Kerslake says "Although scheduled for closure at the end of 1965, with through long distance passenger workings having ended earlier at the conclusion of the 1962 Summer Services , a short reprieve for the Somerset and Dorset saw services exxtended to the 5th March of 1966 as alternative road transport arrangements proved difficult to be implemented by the due date and 80043 is portayed here at Chilcompton, between Bath and Evercreech Junction on that last day of services."
