BR class 2MT 2-6-0 No 78019 pilots class 4MT 2-6-0 No 76052 passing from the double track to the single line section at Coal Road signal box, about two miles east of Barnard Castle with an eastbound goods in c1959. The train is heading for West Aukland and the fireman has just taken the 'tablet' from the signalman for the single line ahead through Bluestone Grange cutting to Forthburn.
