In LMS days (and BR LMR days) the train reporting numbers generally followed the rule of odd numbers for down trains and even numbers for up trains. However here this is a down service for Holyhead (the B suffix) but with an even number. Perhaps this service originated in the North west possibly Liverpool or Manchester.
