An interesting photograph of J39 No 1412 taken in August 1940.
This loco spent its entire career on the NER. At the time of this photo it was shedded at Newport and spent much of its BR existence at West Aukland from where it was withdrawn as No 64848 in December 1962.

Vic Smith suggests "With the history of locos allocation, could this be Swalwell on the Derwent Valley line from Newcastle to Durham?"
